Château Montrose is a winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of fourteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
Chateau La Serre is a 7-hectare (17-acre) estate situated a short distance from the walls of Saint Emilion in Bordeaux. Merlot is the most prolific grape variety in the vineyard, occupying 80 percent of the total hectarage. Cabernet Franc makes up the remainder. The vines are on average 35 years old and are planted on south-facing limestone slopes.Chateau La Serre uses cold pre-fermentation and laser optical sorting in the winery and ages its wine for 15 to 18 months in oak barrels.
