🏰 The 2019 Lignier Michelot Morey St Denis Aux Charmes comes from a Burgundy vintage widely considered truly excellent, even legendary, for red wines. This vintage produced simply brilliant red wines, beautifully balanced with a seductive depth of fruit and classical levels of acidity, possessing the structure needed for long-term aging. Morey Saint Denis, in particular, yielded incredibly luscious Pinot Noir that are ripe and aromatic. It's a small but jewel-like vintage, often described as hard to go wrong with, combining the depth of 2005 with the generosity of 2009.

BACKGROUND
Domaine Lignier-Michelot is a wine producer based in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits sub-region of Burgundy, producing a range of red Pinot-based wines from the Morey appellation itself and neighboring village. The owners, the Lignier family, have been growing vines in Morey-Saint-Denis since the early 20th century, but sold the grapes each vintage to négociants until 1992, when they began bottling some of their own wine. The winery has just over eight hectares (20 acres) of vines, many of which are highly regarded Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards, such as the Grand Cru Clos de la Roche.
