【A quintessential Nuits-Saint-Georges from old vines, the 2021 Forey Père & Fils offers a regal garnet hue and a captivating bouquet of dark fruits and forest floor, leading to a powerful, structured palate built for long-term cellaring.】 Regis Forey crafts traditional, old-school Pinot Noir in the heart of Vosne-Romanée, with wines known for their potential to unlock full complexity with careful cellaring. The Forey family has owned vines in the esteemed Les Perrieres vineyard of Nuits-Saint-Georges for generations, with some planted between 1937 and 1942. The 2021 vintage is characterized by notes of green tea, earth, and forest floor, preceding voluminous medium-bodied flavors that are rich and plush. This wine presents a regal garnet robe with aromas of blackberries, dark cherries, and a subtle hint of forest floor, evolving to include smoked meats and black fruits. The palate unfurls a rich tapestry of luscious dark fruit, nuanced earthiness, and a trace of spice, supported by robust yet refined tannins and a structured backbone, leading to an enduring, powerful, and youthfully austere finish.
