Château Montrose is a winery in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of fourteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
Chateau Kirwan is a producer located in Margaux, the most southern commune in the Medoc. The estate was classified as a Third Growth in the 1855 Classification of Bordeaux wines.Chateau Kirwan is situated on 40 hectares (100 acres) the Cantenac Plateau on the Garonne River. Studying the soil composition, Cabernet Sauvignon is the dominate variety grown here, thriving on gravelly soils, while Merlot enjoys more clay-based soils on another part of the property. Some Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are grown as well.
