🏰The 2007 vintage in Burgundy was generally considered good, with a challenging growing season that ultimately produced wines of freshness and elegance. Etienne Sauzet's Batard Montrachet Grand Cru 2007 is a 【full-bodied, rich, and powerful white Burgundy, stunning with intense flavors of almonds, ripe apple, white flowers, honey, and spices, boasting remarkable length】. Expect a complex wine that develops favorably over 10 to 20 years.
🍴 This opulent white wine is ideal with finely prepared fine fish and crustaceans, such as pan-fried sea scallops or lobster thermidor. It also pairs beautifully with foie gras, poultry, and white meats, especially when roasted or served in a cream sauce. Consider a fattened roasting chicken stuffed with morel mushrooms for a truly luxurious match.
🥂 Perfect for an elegant dinner party or a special celebration, this Grand Cru white Burgundy is a statement wine. It's a fantastic choice for impressing connoisseurs or marking a significant milestone. Serve between 12-14°C (53-57°F).
BACKGROUND
Etienne Sauzet is an estate based in Puligny-Montrachet, France, making some of the most sought-after Chardonnay wines in Burgundy. The domaine is made up of 15 hectares (37 ac) of estate vineyards split . Etienne Sauzet was established at the forefront of Puligny-Montrachet production by Etienne Sauzet himself (1903-1975). His 12 hectare (30 ac) estate was taken over by his son-in-law Gérard Boudot, although in 1991 Boudot's cousin Jean-Marc Boillot took out his share of vineyards, requiring Boudot and his family to make additional acquisitions to bring the property back to its current size.
