🏰 The 1978 Rayas Châteauneuf du Pape Réserve Blanc is a rare and authentic treasure from a legendary estate, with older vintages like this one being of "amazing quality." Château Rayas is renowned for its unique style and unwavering commitment to tradition, often compared to the finest Burgundian expressions. 【This elegant and complex white wine offers a captivating bouquet intertwining notes of white flowers, honey, and ripe stone fruit, enriched by subtle hints of beeswax and nutty undertones.】 On the palate, it presents a perfect balance of gentle richness and refreshing acidity, with a distinctive minerality and a long, harmonious finish. Expect a bright yellow hue, fresh fruitiness, and a remarkably long, rich character, akin to a very fine white Burgundy.
🍴 This noble white Rhone pairs beautifully with delicate fish, seafood, and poultry dishes. Its distinctive character also allows it to be enjoyed entirely on its own, as a contemplative experience.
🥂 A truly special, intimate celebration, a milestone anniversary, or a profound tasting experience for those who appreciate the beauty and evolution of aged white wines.
Serving Suggestion: This 1978 vintage is a testament to the longevity of Rayas Blanc. Expect a beautiful evolution of tertiary aromas, showcasing an old wine style. Serve slightly chilled, but not too cold (around 12-14°C) to allow its complex bouquet to unfold. Decanting is generally not recommended for very old white wines unless there's significant sediment, as it can accelerate oxidation. Be extremely gentle with the cork and capsule, as they will be fragile. The condition of the cork and capsule is crucial for such an old bottle, and while we expect a positive experience, the condition of very old wines can vary.
