Jacques Frederic Mugnier, Chambolle Musigny Les Fuees 1er Cru, 2019
🏰 The 2019 vintage in Burgundy, despite warm conditions, allowed Jacques Frederic Mugnier to craft wines of remarkable finesse. His Chambolle Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru from this year is a testament to the unique terroir of this Premier Cru. The wine soars from the glass with aromas of raspberries and blackberries, mingled with notes of peony, warm spices, orange rind, and potpourri. The producer notes highlight a more mineral and earthy nuance compared to other Chambolle-Musigny, with a base of blackberries and blueberries. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, ample, and satiny, offering a rich and seamless experience with a concentrated core of fruit, lively acids, and a long, saline finish. While some critics noted a more floral bouquet with stewed black tea and red fruit, they also mentioned a potential green element that might integrate with bottle age. 【Elegant and mineral-driven Premier Cru from a revered Chambolle-Musigny terroir】.
🍴 This exquisite red Burgundy is a superb companion for refined dishes. Consider roasted duck or other game birds, a classic mushroom risotto, or delicate preparations of beef such as a tenderloin with a light sauce. Its elegance also makes it suitable for charcuterie boards featuring fine cured meats. For an Eastern pairing, try it with Cantonese roast duck or a subtle mushroom stir-fry.
🥂 Ideal for special occasion dinners, intimate gatherings, or a focused tasting of fine Burgundy. Its complexity and potential for evolution make it a rewarding choice for collectors and connoisseurs alike, perfect for celebrating significant moments or simply indulging in a moment of vinous pleasure.
