Jacques Frederic Mugnier, Chambolle Musigny Les Fuees 1er Cru, 2012
🏰 Jacques Frederic Mugnier's 2012 Chambolle Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru is celebrated for showcasing the 【refined side of Chambolle to the fullest, hovering on the palate with the effortless grace of a ballerina】. This red Burgundy offers a svelte, pure, and soil-driven profile. Expect a mesmerizing bouquet of crisp raspberry, wild strawberry, damp soil, and dried orange peel scents, evolving into notes of black raspberry, cherry, coffee, black pepper, and noble herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, taut tannins, leading to a long, silky, and beautifully balanced finish with firm minerality.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing: This elegant紅酒 (red wine) is a superb match for roasted duck, pan-seared pigeon, or other game birds. For a delicate Cantonese pairing, consider steamed chicken with ginger and scallions, or a light mushroom stir-fry. It also complements dishes with earthy notes like truffle pasta.
🥂 fit for event suggestion: An ideal choice for a sophisticated dinner, a special anniversary, or a gathering of serious Burgundy collectors. Serve at 14-16°C (57-61°F). While enjoyable now, this wine has further aging potential; decanting for 30-60 minutes can help it express its full aromatic complexity.
