Georges Mugneret Gibourg, Nuits St Georges Les Chaignots 1er Cru, 2010
🏰news | features + short tasting note IN ENGLISH
【A highly-rated 2010 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru, praised for its profound elegance, depth, and complex soil signature from low-yielding vines】. It offers a stunning nose of black cherries, a touch of blood orange, plums, dark chocolate, a wonderfully complex soil signature, violets, and vanillin oak. The palate is deep, full-bodied, very pure and tangy, with a great core of fruit, ripe tannins, impeccable focus and balance, and a very long, laser-like finish. It shows layers of black fruit, spices, and menthol, with fabulous depth and richness. Producer notes mention red and black fruits on the nose, with a dense yet subtle palate, showing an outstanding character typical of a mature spicy Pinot Noir.

Excellent with duck, goose, and game birds.
🥂 fit for event suggestion IN ENGLISH
A wine that is still very young and undeveloped but quite drinkable now, with potential to reward a decade or so of cellar time. Ideal for special occasions or for cellaring by serious Burgundy collectors.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg is a French producer of high-quality Pinot Noir located in the Côte de Nuits, famous for its wines from Burgundy's most popular vineyards. The winery was founded in 1933, and in the 1950s small plots of land were purchased to expand the family's vineyards. Incorporated in 2009 as Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg. The most rare and expensive wines of the winery come from the Grand Cru vineyards Ruchottes Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot and Echézeaux, and it also produces Burgundy red wine from multiple Premier Cru vineyards.
