Armand Rousseau, Gevrey Chambertin Clos Saint Jacques 1er Cru, 1995
🏰 The 1995 vintage in 布根地 (Burgundy) is enshrined as a period that yielded wines of exceptional balance and aging potential. Domaine Armand Rousseau, a titan of Burgundy, crafted this Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques 1er Cru to epitomize the seductive prowess of the region's fêted vintages. This particular 1er Cru is often considered to be of Grand Cru quality due to its perfectly situated steep slope with both south and east exposure. 【Consistently of Grand Cru quality from a prestigious 1er Cru plot】 Rousseau's unwavering commitment to expressing terroir through sustainable viticulture ensures each bottle is an artifact of oenological brilliance.
This wine presents a pale rust red color. The tasting journey begins with an aromatic kaleidoscope of earthy truffles and summertime raspberries, rounded off by secondary notes of fine leather and dried violets, a testament to its splendid evolution. The palate reveals graceful layers of succulent cherries intertwined with the autumnal opulence of sous-bois, all held together by a spine of refined tannins and an ethereal acidity. It offers red-berried fruit, wild hedgerow, wild strawberry, and a touch of copper piping, with a silky smooth texture and an earthy finish.
🍴 This elegant 布根地 Pinot Noir is a superb match for roasted duck, game birds, and delicate beef preparations. Its earthy and fruity notes also complement mushroom-based dishes and mature, nuanced cheeses.
🥂 An ideal wine for a significant anniversary, a special family gathering, or a serious tasting among connoisseurs. It is drinking beautifully now but has the structure to continue evolving. It was suggested to drink between 2008-2018, but many notes indicate it is still showing well and has further potential.
