Charles Noellat, Nuits Saint-georges Aux Boudots 1er cru, 1976
🏰 The 1976 Charles Noellat Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er Cru represents a 【rare and historic glimpse into classic Burgundy from a bygone era】. While 1976 was a challenging vintage in Burgundy, a well-preserved bottle from a reputable producer like Charles Noellat can offer a fascinating journey through time. Expect a wine with tertiary aromas of dried roses, forest floor, leather, and subtle spice, with a delicate and ethereal palate that speaks of extreme age and nuanced complexity. It's a testament to the longevity of fine Pinot Noir.
🍴 This venerable Burgundy red would be best enjoyed with simple, elegant dishes that won't overpower its delicate nature, such as roasted squab, mushroom pâté, or a light truffle pasta. For an Asian pairing, consider a delicate Cantonese steamed chicken with dried mushrooms or a subtle braised abalone.
🥂 An extraordinary experience for a very special anniversary, a birth year celebration, or a contemplative tasting among serious collectors of aged Burgundy. Given its age, expect an old wine style, and while the condition can vary, the experience of tasting such a historic vintage is unique. Kindly be mindful of the cork and capsule, as they may be fragile.
BACKGROUND
Charles Noëllat is the current wine merchant brand in the Côte de Nuits sub-region of Burgundy. The few original wines left are very sought-after and very rare. The Noëllat family has a long history of wine production in Vosne-Romanée, started in the early 20th century by brothers Charles and Ernest. Descendants of Charles and Ernest are winemakers at Domaine Georges Noëllat and Domaine Michel Noëllat et Fils respectively.
