FEATURES
🏰 The 2004 Jamet Cote Brune is a 【complex and structured Northern Rhône Syrah from a generally very good vintage】, offering a deeply posh nose and phenomenal aging potential. The 2004 growing season in the Rhône Valley saw a warm spring and hot early summer, leading to a fresh and complex wine. Expect a deeply posh nose with dark cherry fruit, silky textures, bacon fat, brine, and crushed rose petals, evolving to reveal pepper, minty coolness, and herbal ginger touches. Notes of rosemary, olive, aged tobacco, damson plum, red currant, braised fig, and roasted cèpe also contribute to its intricate profile. 🍴 This bold Syrah is a superb match for rich and savory dishes. Classic pairings include lamb, beef, poultry, and game such as venison. Its smoky and spicy notes also complement roasted meats and hearty stews. 🥂 A wine for special occasions and serious collectors, this Cote Brune is drinking well now but has phenomenal keeping potential, with many suggesting it will continue to evolve beautifully for years to come. Decanting is recommended to allow its full complexity to unfold.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jamet is a renowned wine producer located in Ampuis, at the heart of the northern Rhône wine region in France, celebrated for its traditional Cote Rotie wines. The estate spans about seven hectares (17 acres) of vineyards, scattered across small plots in the Côte Brune and Côte Blonde areas of Côte Rotie. Predominantly, the vineyards are planted with Syrah, complemented by minor plantings of Marsanne, Viognier, and Roussanne. Founded by Joseph Jamet in 1950. By 1976, Domaine Jamet started bottling its own wines. After Joseph retired, his sons Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul ran the estate. Currently, Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet oversee the domaine, joined by their son Loïc since 2015.
