🏰The Herve Roumier Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 1986 is a rare and exquisite red Pinot Noir, representing a mature expression from a respected Burgundy producer. Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is celebrated for its power and structure, which, with age, evolves into a complex tapestry of flavors. For this 1986 vintage, expect a sophisticated bouquet of 【dried fruit, forest floor, leather, and exotic spices】, layered over a foundation of dark fruit and a distinctive mineral streak. The palate will reveal the depth and elegance that only decades in bottle can achieve.
🍴 This venerable Burgundy pairs beautifully with roasted game birds like duck and pheasant, rich mushroom dishes, truffle-infused cuisine, and a selection of aged hard cheeses.
🥂 A profound bottle for a significant anniversary, a special birthday for a dedicated Burgundy lover, or a contemplative evening with fellow wine enthusiasts. It's a wine that invites reflection and appreciation.
Serving suggestion: This 1986 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is a mature Burgundy, offering a complex tapestry of aged flavors. The cork and capsule may be fragile, so open with utmost care. Decant gently for 1-2 hours to allow it to open up and separate from any sediment, serving at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
BACKGROUND
Domaine Hervé Roumier is located in Chambolle-Musigny, France. The terrible shock following the death of her husband a few years ago gave Veronique the strenuous task of working in the vineyard, managing the cellar and caring for her teenager daughter, all at the same time. The tough mother has since sensibly reduced the acreage on which she tends the vines to a more manageable size, and currently makes a microscopic quantity of no more than 9,000 bottles of some of the finest Burgundy, including well crafted Bonnes Mares and Clos de Vougeot, which more than do justice to the fame of the two Grand Crus.
