🏰 The 2005 Geantet-Pansiot Gevrey Chambertin VV (Vieilles Vignes) hails from the 【legendary 2005 Burgundy vintage, widely considered one of the greatest of the last 50 years】, known for its exceptional structure and longevity. While specific tasting notes for this exact wine are not readily available, Geantet-Pansiot is renowned for crafting rich, concentrated Pinot Noir with good ripeness and a touch of oak. Expect a wine with deep fruit, earthy notes, and firm tannins in its youth, evolving into complex savory and forest floor characteristics with age. This is a wine built to last and impress.
🍴 This powerful red 布根地 would be an excellent companion to roasted game birds, classic beef bourguignon, rich mushroom dishes, or a selection of aged, firm cheeses.
🥂 A superb choice for serious Burgundy lovers, perfect for a celebratory dinner, a vertical tasting, or as a cornerstone addition to a discerning cellar. Given its age, decanting and ample aeration are highly recommended to allow its full complexity to unfold.
BACKGROUND
Geantet-Pansiot is a wine producer located in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy. It is famous for its Pinot Noir wines from Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, and also produces a variety of Burgundy AOC wines. The estate was founded in 1954 when newlyweds Edmond Geantet and Bernadette Pansiot purchased a three-hectare (seven-acre) vineyard on the edge of Gevrey-Chambertin. Today, the vineyards total 13 hectares (32 acres), mainly through agricultural contracts.
