🏰 【D'Auvenay is an exceptionally exclusive and rare producer in Burgundy, celebrated for its biodynamic practices and outstanding quality, making this 2003 Bourgogne Aligote Sous Chatelet a truly unique find.】 The 2003 Burgundy white vintage was challenging due to extreme heat, resulting in wines that could be heavy and deficient in acidity, or with an exotic honeyed nose and ample weight. However, top estates produced big, impressive, fruit-driven wines. This wine is expected to showcase intense aromas of ripe citrus, white, and yellow fruits, potentially with sweet notes of exotic fruits, candied fruits, and honey. The palate is round and fleshy, though the acidity might be lower due to the vintage characteristics, or surprisingly fresh depending on the winemaking.
🍴 This Aligoté pairs well with grilled fish, seafood, white meat dishes, goat cheese, or refreshing vegetable salads with light sauces.
🥂 Ideal for an exclusive wine dinner, a rare tasting experience shared with seasoned wine enthusiasts, or as a prized addition to a collector's cellar.
BACKGROUND
Domaine d Auvenay is a small Burgundy wine estate located in Saint-Roman. It is the third entity in the Leroy empire, named after Lalou Bize-Leroy and was previously run by her husband Marcel Bize until his death in 2004. There are 4 hectares (10 acres) of vines, but these include plots of the Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin, Bonnes-Mares and Bâtard-Montrachet, as well as a handful of top cru vineyards, including Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières and Meursault les Gouttes d 'Or.
