🏰【A true collector's gem from the legendary Lalou Bize-Leroy, the D'Auvenay Batard Montrachet Grand Cru 2015 is one of Burgundy's rarest and most sought-after white wines, with only 965 bottles produced in this exceptional vintage】. This Grand Cru Chardonnay from a powerful and generous 2015 vintage unveils a pale yellow to golden hue with emerald highlights. The bouquet is remarkably complex, offering 【ripe fruit notes of white peach and candied citrus, intertwined with white flowers, lime blossom, and buttery touches that evolve into toasted brioche, marzipan, and orange blossom upon aeration】. On the palate, it's exceptionally rich and concentrated, with ripe orchard fruit, honey, and white truffle harmonizing with lively acidity and a persistent finish of mineral and saline notes, showcasing its profound terroir.
🍴 Food Pairing: This exquisite white Burgundy demands equally refined dishes: pan-seared foie gras, lobster or langoustines in butter sauce, noble fish in cream sauce, free-range poultry with morels, or blue-veined cheeses like Roquefort. White truffle dishes are an exceptional match.
🥂 Fit for Event: An unparalleled choice for a milestone celebration, a high-stakes wine auction, or a truly unforgettable gourmet dining experience. This is a wine to be savored and remembered.
Serving: Ideally served at 12-14°C (54-57°F). Its structure and depth allow for a cellaring potential of two decades or more, developing remarkable tertiary complexity over time. Drinking window: 2025-2055.
BACKGROUND
Domaine d Auvenay is a small Burgundy wine estate located in Saint-Roman. It is the third entity in the Leroy empire, named after Lalou Bize-Leroy and was previously run by her husband Marcel Bize until his death in 2004. There are 4 hectares (10 acres) of vines, but these include plots of the Grand Cru Mazis-Chambertin, Bonnes-Mares and Bâtard-Montrachet, as well as a handful of top cru vineyards, including Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières and Meursault les Gouttes d 'Or.
