🏰 The 2017 Duemani Caiarossa Tresoro is a remarkable collaboration between three top Tuscan wineries: Caiarossa, Duemani, and Tenuta Prima Pietra, created as a tribute to the coastal town of Riparbella. This vintage marks the first release of this special blend. The wine, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, showcases an intense, inky color and a rich saturation. While initially reserved on the nose, it offers plenty of fleshiness and succulence on the palate, balanced by spicy French oak. James Suckling awarded this vintage an impressive 96 points, praising its gorgeous aromas of crushed stone, blueberries, light chocolate, and coffee beans, along with its full body, polished tannins, and flavorful, wonderfully long finish. Robert Parker also rated it 91 points, noting its ripe taste. Only 3,000 bottles were produced, making it a rare find.
🍴 This robust Tuscan blend pairs beautifully with hearty dishes. Consider a traditional Tuscan wild boar stew (cinghiale alla cacciatora) with red wine, greens, onions, carrots, celery, and rosemary. It would also complement grilled red meats or rich, savory pasta dishes.
🥂 Perfect for a special dinner or a celebratory occasion where a powerful, well-structured red wine is desired. Its limited production makes it an excellent choice for collectors or as a thoughtful gift for a wine enthusiast.
