FEATURES
🏰 The 2013 Pruno from Finca Villacreces is a distinguished Ribera del Duero red, a blend of 90% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 12 months in two-year-old French oak barrels. This wine gained significant recognition when Robert Parker hailed it as 【the best Spanish wine under twenty dollars】. The estate, nestled in Ribera del Duero's prestigious 'Golden Mile', spans 64 hectares and shares its neighborhood with the renowned Vega Sicilia.
Deep ruby in color, the wine offers an intense and moderately complex nose of ripe black cherry, plum, cassis, and blackberry fruit, complemented by notes of licorice spice, meaty nuances, and a hint of citrus. The palate is beautifully balanced with fresh acidity and a vibrant black fruit core. It's a dense, structured, full-bodied red with muscular tannins that benefit from cellar time or pairing with red meat to soften. Further tasting notes reveal dark fruits, toasty oak, blueberry, black raspberry, and graphite, culminating in a long, heady finish.
🥂 This structured and full-bodied red is an excellent choice for a special dinner, a family reunion, or a business dinner. If enjoyed in its youth, decanting for a couple of hours is recommended to allow its complex aromas to fully unfold.
🍴 This versatile red pairs exceptionally well with rare steak, roast beef, roast veal, hamburgers, and venison. Consider it with grilled beef tenderloin with blue cheese butter, roast leg of lamb with honey and root vegetables, or moussaka. It also complements grilled red meats, cured duck breast, paté, red meat with gravy, risotto, roasted lamb, roasted white meats, roasted piglet, sheep's cheese, and steak tartare.
