Gros Frere Et Soeur, Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru, 2001
🏰The 2001 Gros Frere et Soeur Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru is a magnificent example of a mature Burgundy Grand Cru, offering a glimpse into the profound complexity that Pinot Noir can achieve with age. From a vintage that produced elegant and age-worthy wines, this bottle reveals 【a captivating aromatic tapestry of dried roses, forest floor, truffles, and sweet spices, leading to a silky palate with integrated tannins and a remarkably long, ethereal finish】.
🍴 This exquisite Burgundy calls for refined pairings. Think roasted squab, pan-seared duck breast with wild mushrooms, or a delicate beef bourguignon. For an Asian-inspired pairing, consider a sophisticated Cantonese braised abalone or a subtle Peking duck preparation.
🥂 An ideal wine for a significant anniversary, a celebratory dinner, or a serious Burgundy tasting. It's a wine to be savored slowly, allowing its intricate layers to unfold. Decant gently for 1-2 hours to allow it to fully express itself, and serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F). As with any older wine, handle the cork and capsule with care.
