Georges Mugneret Gibourg, Chambolle Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru, 2003
🏰【Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg is a highly regarded producer, and their Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru offers all the refined delicacy of Pinot Noir】, even in the ripe 2003 vintage. This wine displays a beautiful garnet color. The nose reveals floral notes gently combining with spices. The palate is generous and complex, offering aromas of black cherry, violet with a hint of truffle, and a very long aromatic aftertaste. Expect notes of red fruit, cherry, strawberry, forest floor, smoke, mushroom, oak, clove, butter, plum, black olive, blood orange, citrus zest, mint, and savory. The 2003 vintage can be on a turning point from fruit-driven to a matured Burgundy, with some finding it leaning towards darker fruits and quite tannic.
🍴 This red Burgundy pairs well with duck, goose, and game birds. It is best with simple meat, avoiding strong-tasting, gamey meat.
🥂 A mature Burgundy for those who appreciate developed Pinot Noir, suitable for a special dinner with poultry or game, or for a comparative tasting of older vintages.
