🏰The 2011 Burgundy vintage was challenging but produced some good wines, particularly reds with 【charm, plump weight, and definition】, often described as "millesime de terroir" where appellation character shines through. While specific notes for Arlaud Charmes Chambertin 2011 are not directly available, other Charmes-Chambertin Grand Crus from 2011 show an earthy bouquet with brambly red fruit, spicy and mineral notes, dark cherries, raspberries, violets, and pepper. The palate tends to be medium-bodied with firm tannins, good concentration, and a fresh aspect, often needing time to integrate. The wines gained stature and quality in barrel, offering a welcome freshness and good acidity.
🍴This elegant Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru would be exquisite with classic Burgundian pairings such as roasted duck breast, coq au vin, mushroom risotto, or delicate game birds. Its earthy and red fruit notes will complement dishes with similar profiles.
🥂An excellent choice for a special occasion or a serious wine tasting, particularly for Burgundy enthusiasts. The 2011 vintage is generally approachable now but the top examples can still benefit from further cellaring.
