🏰 The 2019 Pierre Girardin Echezeaux Grand Cru is an 【exceptional wine from a truly excellent, even legendary, Burgundy vintage】. Pierre Girardin, a talented winemaker, has crafted a Pinot Noir that showcases polished fruit and striking refinement. Rated 94 points by Burghound, this wine offers evident restraint to its overtly spicy and softly perfumed aromas of dark berries and plum. The palate is velvet-textured, delicious, and enveloping, with excellent volume and power, leading to a huge length on the dusty, sappy, and firmly structured finale. Expect complex notes of red (raspberry, watermelon) and blue (blackberry) fruit, leather, rose petals, violet, and a touch of smoke, all harmoniously balanced with bright acidity and licorice spice.
🍴 This magnificent Grand Cru pairs beautifully with roasted duck, goose, or other game birds, as well as beef, veal, or poultry dishes. Consider a rich mushroom and truffle sauce or a delicate roasted pigeon with herbs.
🥂 A magnificent wine for collectors, offering both immediate pleasure and significant aging potential. It is recommended for drinking from 2024-2038.
