FEATURES
🏰 The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was a very warm and early one, with a slight lack of moisture that reduced harvest volumes but ensured complexity and phenolic ripeness. Louis Jadot's Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2020 is a standout, revealing aromas of cassis, dark cherries, incense, rose petals, dark chocolate, and spices. It's full-bodied, concentrated, and structured, with striking depth and dimension. William Kelley of Wine Advocate considers it the finest Clos de Vougeot he's ever tasted from Jadot, requiring patience. James Suckling awarded it 97 points, and Wine Spectator 95 points. 【Finest Clos de Vougeot ever tasted from Jadot - William Kelley】. Initial notes of mocha, candied cherry, and sweet tobacco evolve into secondary nuances of dried flower, spiced strawberry, and sandalwood in a full and complex structure. The typical chewy tannins become refined and silky as the wine ages. Other tasting notes mention a sleek black cherry- and blackberry-infused version, tightly coiled and unfurling slowly, ending with mineral and spice notes. It has a rich and gamey nose, with iron, smoke, and earth, developing super-ripe sour-cherry fruit with aeration. The palate is powerful, with supple and caressing flavors, concluding in a youthfully austere and moderately firm finish.
🍴 This powerful and complex red Burgundy is an excellent match for roasted or sauced red meat, pheasant, venison, or other large game. It also pairs well with duck, goose, and game birds. Its structure and depth make it suitable for the most elegant cuisines.
🥂 A superb choice for a grand dinner, a significant celebration, or as a cornerstone addition to a serious wine collection. This wine is built for the long haul and will benefit immensely from cellaring.
