🏰 The 2019 Jacques Prieur Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a magnificent Burgundy, reflecting the essence of Côte de Nuits terroir and offering 【a powerful yet elegant expression of Pinot Noir】. The 2019 Burgundy vintage is widely considered excellent, even legendary, for reds, producing complex, richly fruit-forward, and refined wines with great terroir typicity. This wine presents a seducing fragrance of dark berries like blueberry, blackberry, and blackcurrant, intertwined with delicate spicy notes of vanilla and nutmeg, evolving into floral hints of rose petals. The palate is textured and tasty, showcasing fresh fruit and spicy pepper flavors, with a thick finish supported by dense, fresh, and ripe tannins.
🍴 This Grand Cru Pinot Noir is an ideal match for sophisticated dishes. Classic pairings include charcuterie boards, roasted lamb, duck, or chicken. Its robust structure also stands up well to game meats like wild boar or venison. For a more rustic pairing, consider roasted root vegetables or grilled aubergine and zucchini.
🥂 An extraordinary choice for grand celebrations, fine dining experiences, or as a cornerstone addition to any serious Burgundy collector's cellar, with excellent aging potential.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jacques Prieur is a relatively large Burgundy producer that makes both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from esteemed vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, France. The history of the domaine began in the 1860s, with the marriage of Claude Duvergey and Marie Taboureau. They first established the wine and spirits merchant business, Duvergey-Taboureau House, before buying property in Meursault – now the site of the modern Domaine Jacques Priuer.
