Joseph Drouhin, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru, 2019
🏰 【The 2019 Joseph Drouhin Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru is a generous and distinctive wine, promising the greatness of Burgundian vintages ending in '9', with extraordinary richness and harmony, supported by fine and noble tannins.】 Founded in 1880, Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy's most respected dynasties, known for innovation and an empire of vineyards. The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard is located below Chambertin, with rocky soil and limestone outcroppings. The 2019 vintage offered great maturity, resulting in ample and silky wines that are charming and full of delicacy.
The color reveals a beautiful intense ruby-red hue. On the nose, the first impression is cherry, evolving into woody and fine spicy aromas, with an elegant hint of musk. The palate is rich and complex, offering a velvety texture that envelops a fine, well-defined tannic structure. Flavors are extraordinary in their richness and harmony, with notes of candied cherry, exotic wood barks, and refined spices, leading to a lengthy, persistent finish.
🍴 Pairs beautifully with aged cheese, truffles, delicate meat dishes, and feathered game meats such as roasted partridge or woodcock in sauce.
🥂 An excellent choice for a celebratory dinner, a special occasion, or for collectors seeking a charming and age-worthy Grand Cru Burgundy. It is recommended to serve at 16-18°C.
