【A Grand Cru of Delicacy and Finesse】The Louis Jadot Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 is celebrated for its delicacy and finesse, offering a silken texture and notes of berries, earth, and oak. This full-bodied, open-knit, and giving wine is considered a definite success, though some note it may not match the depth of the Clos de Bèze from the same domaine. With impressive, bright aromas of red cherries, blueberries, and violets, it boasts a complex and confident feel, supported by an athletic tannin structure from very old vines, some over 100 years old. It promises to improve in bottle for 20 to 25 years.

This elegant Chambertin Grand Cru pairs beautifully with sophisticated Cantonese dishes such as roasted pigeon or braised abalone with mushrooms. Its earthy and berry notes will also complement roasted duck with plum sauce. For Western pairings, consider classic coq au vin, roasted lamb rack with herbs, or strong, aged cheeses like Reblochon and Époisses.

An ideal wine for a formal dinner, a significant anniversary, or a special gathering where fine Burgundy is appreciated. Its aging potential also makes it a superb addition to a serious wine cellar.
BACKGROUND
Louis Jadot is a prominent Burgundy wine producer and négociant. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the primary grape varieties featured. The house was established in Beaune in 1859 by Louis Jadot. The company has seen several leadership changes: Gagey's son Pierre-Henry took over as president in 1991, Gagey died in 1999, and Lardière retired in 2012. Frédéric Barnier, who joined in 2010, is now the head winemaker, and Thibault Gagey has joined his father Pierre-Henry in leading the firm.
