FEATURES
🏰 The 2020 DuMol Pinot Noir Ryan Jentoft Vineyard is hailed as the "most aromatic, ethereal, and mineral Pinot Noir of the vintage" from the steep hillside sandstone soils of the coastal Russian River Valley. This wine beautifully expresses its unique, isolated, forested location, imparting complex nuances of pine needle, redwood, herbal lift, and breezy freshness.
It presents a medium ruby color, sometimes with orange tints. The nose is deeply aromatic and dynamic, offering 【spicy accents of cardamom, violet, conifer, licorice, mint, and tarragon, alongside a deep core of pomegranate, rhubarb, crushed berries, orange peel, and vibrant red and black fruits】. On the palate, it is concentrated, layered, and ultra spicy, with a lacy texture, silky featherweight tannins, and lively natural acidity. Flavors of cherries, flint, blood orange, cranberry, and rocky earth lead to a long, very fragrant, mineral-flecked finish with mint, tobacco, and apple skin edges.
🍴 With its driven acidity and complex profile, this Pinot Noir is an excellent companion for food. Pair it with roasted poultry like duck or guinea fowl, pan-seared salmon, mushroom-based dishes (especially wild mushrooms), or lighter game meats. Its savory notes also complement dishes with earthy components.
🥂 An elegant and complex Pinot Noir, ideal for a special dinner, a focused wine tasting, or a thoughtful gift for a connoisseur. It benefits from gentle decanting for an hour in its youth to allow its full expression.
