Tortochot, Morey St Denis Aux Charmes 1er Cru, 2020
🏰 The 2020 vintage in Burgundy, particularly for Morey-Saint-Denis, produced digestible and well-balanced wines, often described as having a classic Burgundian style. Domaine Tortochot's Morey-Saint-Denis Aux Charmes 1er Cru 2020 is noted for its elegance and charm, with a bouquet of floral scents, vanilla, and spicy notes. On the palate, it's persistent and smooth, offering sweet fruit balanced by tannins and a hint of bitterness, with a juicy and fresh finish. Some describe it as a lighter style with red cherry, raspberry, violet, spice, and earthy notes. The wine is full-bodied and can age for over 25 years, though it's not yet ready for peak enjoyment. 【 A charming and elegant expression of Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru 】.
🍴 This red Burgundy pairs beautifully with savory red meat, autumn dishes like turkey and chestnuts, wild boar, or veal stew. Its elegance also makes it suitable for duck confit or beef in pastry crust.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special occasion celebrating French cuisine, or as a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy enthusiast.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Tortochot is a wine producer headquartered in the village of Gevre-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits subdivision in the northern part of the Côte d'Or in Burgundy. It specializes in the production of wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety and is famous for its wines from three premier vineyards. The winery also has four special wines, produced from their respective Grand Cru vineyards. The Tortochot family's viticultural history in Gevrey-Chambertin dates back four generations to 19th-century winemaker Paul Tortochot, and the current 12 hectare (30 acres) estate continues to be passed down to descendants.
