【Hourglass Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is an outstanding Napa Valley Cabernet from St. Helena, highly acclaimed for its exceptional depth, rich fruit, and refined structure.】 The 2019 vintage featured a steady and temperate growing season, allowing for three separate vineyard picks, ensuring optimal phenolic development, pristine fruit, and intricate dimensionality. The Hourglass vineyard, nestled in the narrowest pinch of the Valley, benefits from cooling breezes that temper late afternoon heat, preserving natural acidity for perfect tension and balance to the fruit's richness. This wine is a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot, aged for 20-22 months in 100% new French oak. It displays a deep purple-black color. The intense aroma is filled with classic cassis, plum preserves, cedar chest notes, hints of violets, graphite, unsmoked cigars, and incense. The palate is medium to full-bodied, built like a brick house, offering a firm foundation of ripe, grainy tannins and a lively backbone to support the finely nuanced layers. The finish is very long and mineral-laced. Also noted are black cherry, blueberry, roast coffee, forest floor, bright cranberry, raspberry, and hints of chocolate.
