🏰 The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru from Claude Dugat "could well turn out to be Dugat's 【finest cuvée this vintage】". This Grand Cru is highly rated by critics, often considered the best available among Chapelle-Chambertin wines. The 2020 vintage in Burgundy promises outstanding wines, with elegance and opulence beyond the norm, and superb, seductive, and well-structured red wines.
The nose of this wine "rivets your feet to the spot with its intense oyster shell tinged red fruit that feels more composed". The palate is medium-bodied with 【filigree tannins, tensile and brimming with energy】. It offers a discrete crescendo towards a harmonious, transparent, and lingering finish. Expect ripe fruits, lingering jammy notes, and balanced tannin and acidity.
🍴 Excellent with refined dishes such as duck, goose, and game birds. Also pairs well with beef, veal, and poultry.
🥂 A superb choice for a celebratory dinner, a serious Burgundy tasting, or a special occasion where a wine of depth and elegance is desired. Its aging potential makes it a great addition to a cellar.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Claude Dugat is a Burgundian producer in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. This prestigious small winery produces only a small amount of Pinot Noir wine, with its most popular wines coming from designated Grand Crus. The domaine was founded by Claude's father in 1955, when he purchased a 13th-century building and converted it into a winery and cellar. Dugat bottles three Grand Cru red wines from Griotte-Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin, as well as two Premier Cru wines.
