FEATURES
🏰The 1964 Faiveley Musigny Grand Cru is a truly historic and rare Burgundy, a distinguished expression from one of the top Musigny producers, offering an elegant, fine, and evolved profile from a bygone era. Domaine Faiveley, known for owning the smallest parcel of Musigny, crafts wines that embody the appellation's signature elegance. This wine presents a 【beautiful, brilliant garnet-red color】. The nose is 【very pretty with woody and fruity notes】, while the palate offers 【grilled and fruity, very ripe cherry aromas】. The tannins are 【present without being too intrusive or aggressive, resulting in an elegant, fine, and distinguished wine】. Expect a delicate, evolved profile with potential notes of 【floral, berry, tea, vanilla, burning wood, dark cherry, truffle, and mocha】. 🍴 This venerable Grand Cru Burgundy is a classic pairing for duck, goose, and various game birds. Its delicate complexity would also complement refined dishes like roasted squab or mushroom-based preparations. 🥂 A profound and intimate experience, this wine is reserved for the most discerning collectors and special, contemplative occasions where its delicate evolution can be appreciated. Extreme care is needed with the cork. Use a two-pronged cork puller (Ah-So) or a Durand. Decant gently for 30-60 minutes to remove any sediment and allow it to slowly open up, but be cautious not to over-aerate. Serve at cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F). Appreciate the nuances of a wine that has gracefully aged for decades, understanding that its primary fruit may have receded, giving way to complex tertiary aromas and flavors.
