Du Comte Liger-belair, Vosne Romanee Clos De Chateau, 2006
🏰 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne Romanee Clos de Chateau 2006, from a vintage that favored the Côte de Nuits, delivers a pretty, aromatic, and elegant expression of this esteemed appellation. A luminous ruby hue, this Vosne-Romanée unveils a captivating bouquet of red cherries, wild berries, violets, and a hint of exotic spice. The palate is silky and refined, with supple tannins and a vibrant acidity that carries the complex flavors through a long, perfumed finish.
🍴 This exquisite red Burgundy is a superb pairing for roasted duck, game birds, mushroom risotto, or soft, earthy cheeses. For an Asian pairing, consider Cantonese roasted pigeon, braised pork belly with chestnuts, or a delicate mushroom and chicken claypot rice.
🥂 Perfect for a special anniversary, a romantic dinner, or as a prized addition to a collection of fine Burgundy wines.
BACKGROUND
Founded in 2000, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair is a relatively new wine producer in Burgundy, but the Liger-Belair family has experience in vineyards since 1815. . It is now managed by Louis-Michel Liguet, Comte de Belaire, who has begun planting vineyards again in Vonn-Romagne and Saint-Georges. Comte Liger-Belair now produces its only wine from La Romanée, a Grand Cru vineyard located on the Romanée-Conti hills. The domaine also owns land in several Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru vineyards. Although the domaine is young, its wines are elegantly structured and highly sought after. La Romanée is one of the most expensive wines produced in Burgundy.
