🏰【Auguste Clape's Cornas is a benchmark for the appellation, and the 2007 vintage is celebrated for its classic expression of Syrah, offering both power and elegance.】 The 2007 vintage in the Northern Rhone was generally good, yielding wines with ripeness and freshness. Auguste Clape is a legendary producer in Cornas, renowned for traditional winemaking and wines that truly reflect their terroir.
Expect a deep, dark color. Aromas of dark berries (blackberry, cassis), black pepper, smoked meat, olive, and a distinct mineral streak. The palate should be full-bodied with firm, structured tannins, good acidity, and a long, savory finish. With age, notes of leather, truffle, and game can emerge.
🍴 This powerful Syrah pairs wonderfully with hearty meat dishes such as roasted lamb, beef stew, game (venison, wild boar), grilled steak, or strong, aged cheeses.
🥂 An excellent choice for a sophisticated dinner, a gathering of wine connoisseurs, or for enjoying with a rich meal on a cooler evening. This wine has significant aging potential.
