🏰 The 2012 vintage in Bordeaux was a challenging year, but Château Ausone, with its meticulous viticulture, produced a Chapelle d'Ausone that triumphed over adversity. This second wine of Château Ausone is highly regarded, often outperforming many Grand Crus. The 2012 Chapelle d'Ausone has a dense ruby/purple color and offers rich, broad, and expansive notes of plum, blueberry, black raspberry, powdered chalk, and flowers. It is medium to full-bodied, beautifully pure, and long, with firm tannins and a vibrant acidity. Critics like James Suckling rated it 95 points, highlighting its superb character. 【An impressive second wine that rivals many top growths, showcasing the Vauthier family's commitment to perfection】.
🍴 This elegant red Bordeaux blend is a perfect match for classic meat dishes such as roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck, game, and grilled preparations. Its fruit and earthy notes also complement Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, and pasta, as well as aged cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party, a special family gathering, or a vertical tasting of Bordeaux wines. Its aging potential also makes it a great addition to a collector's cellar for future enjoyment.
BACKGROUND
Chateau Ausone is one of the prestigious few Saint-Emilion producers with Premier Grand Cru Classe A status. It is relatively small compared to other top rated Bordeaux Chateaux, and its 7-hectare (17-acre) vineyard is planted almost entirely to Cabernet Franc and Merlot. A small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon appears in its second wine, Chapelle d'Ausone.
