🏰 【An exceptional calibre vintage from Pauillac】, the 2019 Chateau Duhart Milon Rothschild is a testament to harmonious fruit and spice notes, reflecting both climatic benevolence and deft vinicultural craftsmanship. This blend, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, offers a deep, dark color and a gorgeous bouquet of extremely pure blackberry, raspberry, tobacco, and graphite scents, with a light floral note. The palate is medium to full-bodied, supple, and seamless, with a vibrant core of fruit, powdery tannins, and succulent acids, leading to a long, precise finish with notes of chocolate and roasted coffee.
🍴 This Pauillac red wine pairs exquisitely with classic red meat dishes such as roasted or grilled beef, lamb, duck, and veal, as well as game meats like venison. It also complements earthy dishes with mushrooms or truffles, hearty pasta, and aged, hard cheeses.
🥂 The 2019 Duhart-Milon Rothschild is an excellent choice for formal dinners, special celebrations, or as a discerning addition to any wine investment portfolio. It is drinking beautifully now but will continue to evolve and impress through 2055. Serve at 15.5°C (60°F) to allow its aromas to unfold.
BACKGROUND
Château Duhart-Milon, previously known as Duhart-Milon-Rothschild, is a winery in the Pauillac appellation of the Médoc, and ranked as a fourth growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The single 73-hectare (180-acre) vineyard block is situated just to the west of Lafite Rothschild, facing Lafon-Rochet in Saint-Estèphe. The soils are a mix of fine gravel and sand on limestone, and are planted two-thirds to Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third to Merlot, although the precise proportion of the grand vin blend can vary with each vintage – for example, the 2012 features 53 percent Merlot.
