🏰 The 2014 Chapelle d'Ausone, the esteemed second wine of Chateau Ausone, is a 【powerful yet elegant Saint-Emilion Grand Cru】 that has achieved a classic style with superb delineation and focus. Crafted from young vines in the same conditions as its elder sibling, this blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc (with a hint of Cabernet Sauvignon) showcases an omnipresent elegance. Expect a very aromatic and brilliant bouquet with fresh red cherry, crushed strawberry, loganberry fruit, dried flowers, and berries, complemented by an undercurrent of limestone. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, refined tannins, offering flavors of white pepper, currants, and berries, gliding across the mouth with superb tension and nuance, leading to a very persistent finish.
🍴 This Bordeaux red blend pairs wonderfully with classic meat dishes such as roasted lamb, beef, venison, and duck. Its structure also allows it to complement hearty stews or aged cheeses.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner party, a special family gathering, or as a thoughtful gift for a Bordeaux lover. It's a wine that offers both immediate pleasure and the potential for further development, making it versatile for various celebratory occasions. Drink this wine from 2024.
BACKGROUND
Chateau Ausone is one of the prestigious few Saint-Emilion producers with Premier Grand Cru Classe A status. It is relatively small compared to other top rated Bordeaux Chateaux, and its 7-hectare (17-acre) vineyard is planted almost entirely to Cabernet Franc and Merlot. A small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon appears in its second wine, Chapelle d'Ausone.
