Henri Bonneau, Chateauneuf Du Pape Reserve Des Celestins, 1988
🏰The 1988 Henri Bonneau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réserve des Célestins is a legendary and powerful red Southern Rhône blend, still a 【monster of a wine with beefy-textured chestnut, roasted fig, bittersweet cocoa, incense, and blood sausage flavors that run through a massive, racy yet densely structured finish】. This profound wine offers very perfumed and slightly heady aromas of spiced meat, dried garrigue, cherries, and cedar, with secondary notes of barnyard, earth, and peppery kirsch. It is concentrated, long, and rich, combining wild, ripe cherries and black raspberry.
🍴 This robust and complex Châteauneuf-du-Pape is an ideal match for grilled or roasted red meats, especially lamb, beef, and game. It also excels with rich, stewed dishes like daube provençale or boeuf bourguignon, and mature cheeses.
🥂 A truly special bottle for a grand celebration, a collector's tasting, or a memorable dinner. This wine is entering its plateau of maturity, offering a great drink for years to come. Kindly remember that older corks and capsules can be fragile, so open with care.
