🏰Hailed by Jeb Dunnuck as "The Cornas of the vintage," the 2012 Auguste Clape Cornas is an incredible effort, showcasing spectacular aromatics and full-bodied richness that sets a high point for this historic domaine. This structured and long-lived wine, though more approachable than the 2010, still benefits from 3-4 years of cellaring and boasts two decades of longevity. It presents an inky purple/black color, followed by spectacular aromas and flavors of 【black raspberry, graphite, beef blood, iron, cedar, and white pepper】, with additional notes of 【charred earth, cassis, and searing minerality】. Despite its massive concentration, it remains elegant, seamless, and gorgeously pure. After eight years, it begins to reveal enticing new aromas, including a touch of 【soy】 alongside underlying 【blackcurrant】.
🍴 This powerful Cornas is an excellent companion for robust dishes such as roasted red meats, game, and hearty stews.
🥂 Perfect for a serious wine tasting, a celebratory dinner featuring rich, savory cuisine, or for patient cellaring to witness its magnificent evolution over the coming decades.
