🏰 Geantet Pansiot's Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 is a prestigious red Burgundy from a vintage that produced elegant, pure, and charming wines with good aging potential. The 2017 vintage in Burgundy was generally well-regarded, offering wines with bright fruit, freshness, and a lovely balance. Expect a wine with a deep ruby color. The nose typically offers a complex and intense bouquet of red and black fruits, such as cherry, raspberry, and blackcurrant, intertwined with notes of violet, forest floor, and subtle spice from oak aging. The palate is usually full-bodied, with a silky texture, refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, profound finish, showcasing the power and finesse of Chambertin Grand Cru.
🍴 This magnificent Grand Cru demands equally refined food pairings. Consider roasted game birds like pheasant or partridge, beef Wellington, truffle-infused dishes, or slow-braised lamb. It also pairs exquisitely with mature, earthy cheeses.
🥂 An exceptional wine for a significant celebration, a serious Burgundy tasting, or a memorable romantic dinner. Its complexity and aging potential make it a wine to be savored and appreciated over time.
BACKGROUND
Geantet-Pansiot is a wine producer located in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy. It is famous for its Pinot Noir wines from Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, and also produces a variety of Burgundy AOC wines. The estate was founded in 1954 when newlyweds Edmond Geantet and Bernadette Pansiot purchased a three-hectare (seven-acre) vineyard on the edge of Gevrey-Chambertin. Today, the vineyards total 13 hectares (32 acres), mainly through agricultural contracts.
