【Château Brane-Cantenac 1990, a Second Growth from Bordeaux's Margaux appellation, represents a classic vintage, showcasing the elegance and complexity of mature Bordeaux red wine.】 The 1990 Bordeaux vintage was a strong year, and while Brane-Cantenac's 1990 might not be as brilliant as its 1989, it remains a solid effort. This wine is a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 13% Cabernet Franc. The estate is located in Margaux and boasts approximately 75 hectares of vineyards, considered among the best terroirs in the appellation. The wine displays a light ruby color with an amber/brick rim, showing signs of age. The complex aroma offers tobacco, truffle, cassis, and fresh leaf notes. The palate is medium-bodied with elegant textures, revealing black cherry, black tea, dried leaves, and subtle gamey scents, with a spicy cassis finish. The tannins are thick and chewy but have softened, showing good concentration.
