FEATURES
🏰 【An exceptional rosé Champagne that undergoes a unique underwater maturation process, spending a year resting 60 meters deep in the Bay of Stiff off the Breton island of Ouessant, imbuing it with remarkable minerality and a distinctive marine salinity.】 The 2018 Leclerc Briant Cuvee Abyss Rose is a blend of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir (vinified as red wine). Bottles are submerged for 10-12 months after disgorgement without dosage, exposed to constant marine currents and hydrostatic pressure, which is believed to sculpt its unique character. The 2018 vintage was a success, characterized by a hot and dry summer without water stress, leading to ideal harvest conditions. It presents a carnelian color with deep amber reflections and fine, lively bubbles. The nose offers iodine notes mingling with citrus and wild berries, evolving towards violet, pistachio, and biscuit aromas. On the palate, a finely creamy effervescence highlights a dry, fruit-driven texture, paired with a marine salinity that lends clarity and refinement, along with notes of redcurrant, tart cherry, blood orange, mineral bitterness, crushed white pepper, roasted almond, and salted shortbread.
🍴 This Champagne pairs particularly well with seafood and shellfish, grilled or raw fish, smoked salmon, and mushroom-based preparations like morels. More robust rosé Champagnes can also complement richer, fattier foods such as lobster, crab, Italian ham, lamb, rabbit, grouse, and pigeon. Cured salmon and fresh burrata are also excellent pairings.
🥂 An adventurous and luxurious choice for special celebrations, gastronomic experiences, or for those seeking a truly unique and memorable wine. It is recommended to serve at 8-10°C, with an optimal drinking window around 2027-2035.
