BACKGROUND
Cascina Disa, run by Elio Sandri, is a deeply traditional Barolo estate located in Monforte d'Alba. Elio is known for his meticulous vineyard work and old-school winemaking, including long macerations and aging in large Slavonian oak botti. The Barolo Perno comes from a steep, south-facing cru. It is a powerful, structured, and deeply complex Nebbiolo, offering classic notes of tar, roses, dark cherry, and licorice, requiring significant time in the cellar to soften.
